The Tequesta Recreation Center is also located here and provides residents the opportunity for team athletics, educational classes, and enrichment programs. Tequesta Park, located at 2280 County Line Road, encompasses more than 45 acres and includes basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball/softball fields, multi-purpose field, a walking trail, and picnic pavilions. Beachgoers enjoy Tequesta’s Coral Cove Park, a guarded beachfront park with playgrounds, grills, picnic areas, restrooms, and indoor and outdoor showers. Similarly, Dubois Park is very popular for families with small children because it has a guarded swim area at the corner of the Jupiter Inlet and Intracoastal Waterway. Snorkelers frequent this area because of the natural oceanic habitat and tropical fish.

The Retirement Scene

Retirees and senior citizens are thrilled to have their own publicly funded senior services agency, known as the Kane Center. With the goal of keeping seniors young by remaining independent, healthy, and active, the Kane Center is managed by the Council on Aging of Martin County and offers a myriad of outings such as movie matinees, lunch at Langford, and adult day clubs. The center also provides Meals on Wheels services to residents who are unable to leave their home. Tequesta Garden condos, a 55-year-old plus community, is another draw for seniors in this area. With two swimming pools, a putting green, croquet court, fitness facility, clubhouse, library, picnic areas, and recreation room, Tequesta Garden condos are sure to keep active adults busy.

Family-Friendly

Families with young children are pleased to be zoned for Jupiter’s A-rated schools, which include Limestone Elementary, Jupiter Middle, and Jupiter High School. Jupiter Middle School has a strong focus on technology, while Jupiter High School is notorious for its pre-medicine, horticulture, engineering and technology, culinary arts, criminal justice, and junior ROTC magnet programs. Real estate in Tequesta known for its appeal to families includes Tequesta Country Club, Heritage Oaks, North Passage, and Jupiter Hills to name a few. Our Way

Because of its laid-back attitude, easy-going personality, and spectacular scenery, Tequesta real estate is quickly becoming a premier property in Palm Beach County. The town itself was developed by Charlie Martyn, the real estate developer who built the community of Jupiter Inlet Colony. Martyn discovered an Indian mound on the peninsula of Jupiter Inlet Beach that belonged to the Tequesta Indian Tribe. Thus, the tribe’s namesake was used for both the country club and the village. Incorporated in 1957, Tequesta covers a total area of 1.8 square miles of land and is populated by less than 6,000 total residents (2010 Census). As such, the seemingly sleepy fishing town clings to its simple motto: “Our way.”
